UK flag carrier British Airways has announced changes to its upcoming summer and winter flight schedules for 2025. With the summer season beginning in March 2025, these changes reflect the growing demand for specific travel routes.
As the Winter 2025 season continues, British Airways is extending its seasonal flights from London Gatwick to Bangkok until April 26, 2025. However, not all changes involve expansion. Due to ongoing maintenance challenges with the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, the airline has had to reduce certain services. Specifically, it has suspended its flights to Dallas and Fort Worth for Summer 2025 and reduced the frequency of flights to Miami, with American Airlines stepping in to ensure continued service.
As part of its plan to make the flight schedule more efficient and boost capacity, BA will increase the number of flights on specific high-demand routes and reduce flights to less-demanded destinations. Thus, the number of weekly flights between Riyadh and London Heathrow will increase from seven to 13, while one weekly flight to and from Jeddah will decrease.

Changes to the Summer Schedule for 2025

- London Heathrow to Milan Linate (LHR-LIN): Weekly flights will increase from 30 to 47
- London City to Milan Linate (LCY-LIN): Flights will increase from just one per week to 13.
- London Heathrow to Milan Malpensa (LHR-MXP): Weekly flights will decrease from 31 to 21, and during off-peak months, they will further reduce to 19.
Changes to the Winter Schedule for 2025
For the upcoming Winter 2025 season, British Airways has revealed plans to modify its long-haul routes to better serve high-demand destinations. The airline is set to increase flights to Riyadh and Bangkok to address rising passenger numbers.
In line with its plans to manage increasing demand, BA will switch to larger aircraft on flights to Johannesburg, Dubai, and Miami, specifically introducing the Airbus A380-800 to these routes.

Some flights that may be reduced include:
- London Heathrow to Doha (LHR-DOH): Weekly flights will decrease from 14 to 12.
- London Heathrow to San Diego (LHR-SAN): The service to San Diego will decrease slightly from 14 to 13 weekly flights.
- London Heathrow to Jeddah (LHR-JED): British Airways will slightly reduce its service by eliminating one weekly flight and modifying the operational schedule.
- London Heathrow to São Paulo (LHR-GRU): Flights to São Paulo will be reduced from 10 to 7 per week.
- London Heathrow to Houston (LHR-IAH) and New Orleans (LHR-MSY): One weekly flight reduced to both Houston and New Orleans.
