British Airways has revealed its largest-ever summer schedule for flights between London and North America in 2025. The airline plans to operate over 400 direct flights each week during peak summer, connecting 26 cities in the US, Canada, and Mexico, including major cities like Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Toronto, and Vancouver.
With this record-breaking number of flights, British Airways continues to lead among European airlines in transatlantic routes. It remains the only European carrier to offer a First Class cabin on flights to America from the UK, which means British Airways Club members can use their Avios points for flights for a high-end travel experience.
New and Expanded Routes
The expanded schedule includes more frequent flights to several key US destinations:
- Miami, Florida (MIA): Doubled to 14 weekly flights, with year-round twice-daily service. A new lounge is also set to open in 2025.
- Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS): Increased to 10 weekly flights, up from seven.
- Austin, Texas (AUS): Increased to 13 weekly flights, up from seven.
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PIT): Upgraded to daily service with seven weekly flights.
- Vancouver, Canada (YVR): Doubled to 14 flights per week.
- Washington, DC (IAD): Expanded to 21 weekly flights from 14.
Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, said, "The US remains a priority market for us, and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers, providing more options than ever to travel between the UK and the USA."
Growth in the Last Decade

Over the past ten years, British Airways has added six new US cities to its network, including Austin (2014), New Orleans (2016), Nashville (2018), Pittsburgh (2019), Portland (2022), and Cincinnati (2023). The new 2025 summer schedule reflects British Airways' commitment to expanding its transatlantic presence and providing more direct options to American travellers.
Other Global Routes
In addition to expanding North America, British Airways is increasing flights to other global destinations. A third daily flight to Delhi has been added, bringing the total number of flights to India to 63 per week. Flights from London Gatwick to Cancun will increase to seven per week, making it a daily service next summer. New services to Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah are set to launch in November 2024 and will continue into the 2025 summer season.
The increased summer schedule is now available for booking on the website. Whether booking British Airways Business Class or upgrading to First Class, travellers can use Avios points for flights to improve their travel experience. So, if you’re planning an Avios adventure for April 2025 or beyond, now’s the time to start booking.
