Summer 2024 is looking brighter than ever, thanks to the recent network expansions announced by Qatar Airways. Pack your bags and dust off your sunhat because two incredible European destinations are joining the airline's ever-growing map: Venice, Italy, and Hamburg, Germany. The addition of these cities to the airlineโs roster means more exciting destinations to spend your Avios points for flights.
Venice returns to the Qatar Airways portfolio in June 2024. Starting June 12th, you can fly seven times a week from Doha to explore the canals, piazzas, and history of this beautiful city. The carrier's return to Venice will be facilitated by the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
Hamburg, Germany, will join the ranks as the fifth German city in Qatar Airways' network on July 1st, 2024, alongside Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Dusseldorf. The route to Hamburg will be serviced by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

For those looking to use their points, the new flights to Venice and Hamburg present excellent opportunities for Avios flight redemption using Qatar Airways Avios.
These additions not only expand Qatar Airways' European network to over 170 destinations but also act as gateways to other exciting parts of the world. Venice is expected to attract travellers from Asia, particularly Japan, China, and Australia, while Hamburg opens up connections to South Africa, Thailand, and the Philippines.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said, โAs this year comes to an end, we are delighted to present our passengers with new and exciting travel opportunities for the year 2024. Starting with our resumption to Venice and an inaugural flight to Hamburg, Qatar Airways and its hub, Hamad International Airport, continues to position itself on the global map as a leading gateway for international travel and connectivity.โ
Qatar Airways has also been expanding its network and resuming routes that were temporarily suspended during the pandemic. Earlier this year, the airline announced its plans to inaugurate seven new routes, reinstate 11 previous routes, and increase the frequency of flights on 35 existing routes. With this expansion, Avios members will have even more choices for their next Avios flight redemption with Qatar Airways Avios.
The airline isn't just adding new destinations, itโs also been busy adding more frequencies to popular spots like Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, Belgrade, and Miami, all connected through the award-winning Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Speaking of Hamad International, its expansion continues. Phase A of the airport's ambitious development project opened in 2022, and Phase B promises even more exciting things to come. With expanded concourses, a new cargo terminal, and a capacity increase to 70 million passengers per year, Doha is gearing up to be a global travel hub like no other.
