Virgin Atlantic Points Booster gives you another way to accelerate your Virgin Points earnings.
Looking for ways to rack up Virgin Points at the best per-point rate? Points Booter is a special feature offered by Virgin Atlantic that gives you extra Virgin Points on top of what you normally earn for flights. When you use Virgin’s Boost feature, you get the option to either double or triple miles earned through a cash ticket or miles redemption by buying Virgin Points at a fixed per-point rate.
Let’s say, you were travelling to Barbados. This is what your Virgin Boost offer will look like:
London to Barbados return:
- Boost with the single flown miles: Get an extra 8,420 points for £84.20
- Or double the flown miles: Get an extra 16,840 points for £168.40
When you use Point Booster, Virgin sells you each point for 1p. Buying points directly from Virgin will cost you 1.5p per point (plus handling fees). In other words, using the Points Booster gets you a 50% discount on the company’s usual rate.
Luckily, Point Booster can also be used alongside a bonus offer. This allows you to earn points at rates that work out even lower than the normal special offers Virgin rolls out from time to time. How about a 3x Points Boost during a 40% bonus? Now, that’s the kind of math we like.
Points Are Money Too
Virgin Points are one of the most rewarding point currencies out there. You can unlock hundreds of exciting Virgin rewards with points: from free holidays, and family ski trips to five-course meals and live O2 tickets, Virgin gives you 200+ ways to redeem your points.
What Is Virgin Red?
Building on the Virgin Flying Club, Virgin Atlantic Airlines launched a new loyalty programme called the Virgin Red in 2021. With Virgin Red, you don’t need to be a big flyer to start earning Points as the programme offers you more than 150 ways to earn Virgin Points.
From your everyday spend on Tesco Clubcard to shopping online with select UK retailers, or even playing games, Virgin Red is a great loyalty program if you want to experience the best of the Virgin universe.
Remember, Virgin liaises with many of the UK’s biggest retailers. From Nike and Adidas to Boots & eBay, you can find the complete list of UK retailers here. To earn points with your favourite brands, all you need to do is shop online through the Virgin Red App or website.
Virgin is also a transferring partner for other credit card schemes such as Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, Citi Thank You Rewards and Bilt Rewards. This gives you a great chance to pool points from multiple sources in one place – your Virgin wallet.
Don’t forget. Tesco Clubcard points can also be exchanged for Virgin Points. You can now earn Clubcard points on almost anything you buy in-store, through Tesco Online or at Teso Fuel.
As long as you are living in the UK, and above the age of 18, you can sign up via the Virgin Red App or website, and start collecting and spending points from today.
What You Need to Know About Virgin Boost?
- Boosting is an entirely optional feature but if you're looking to quickly increase your points, it’s the best way to do so. You still have to pay the high surcharges and taxes associated with each ticket.
- You can even boost points on flights flown in the past 6 months. To claim your Point Boost for a previous flight, feel free to contact the Virgin Atlantic Customer Service Centre; you can drop them a text on +44 (0) 7481 339184 or give them a call at +44 (0)344 412 2414.
- If you are not satisfied, you can always cancel your Boost purchase within 14 days after the date of the transaction, provided none of the purchased points have been redeemed.
- You can only Boost your Virgin Points on a Virgin Atlantic booking. Both one-way and return tickets are eligible for a Boost.
- You don’t have to pay any additional taxes on a Points Booster purchase. In case you change or cancel your trip, you'll still receive points as per the original sectors.
Flying Club is one of the few programs in the industry that lets you boost points on redemption bookings too. For example, on a 10,000-point redemption from New Delhi to London Heathrow, you can buy 8,372 miles "back" for £83.72 ($106.5). This gives you an extra way of maintaining mileage balance when redeeming as well.
The only downside to buying points through Virgin Boost is you can’t buy Points in huge numbers like you can when points are on sale. Boosting only allows you to double or triple what you’d normally earn.
How to Use The Virgin Atlantic Points Booster
- Access your profile, log into your Flying Club account and go to 'My Flying Club.'
- Locate the 'Future flights' tab (it's the second from the left).
- Start boosting by clicking the 'Manage my flights' option at the upper right of the screen.
In a nutshell, the Points Booster lets you bunch more Virgin Points at lower than market prices. Making it a great way of topping up your Virgin Point Balance just in time for that free cruise around the Caribbean.
At Reward Flight Finder, we are always looking for ways to turn your air miles into free and exciting rewards.
