Let’s start with the basics. For every £1 you spend at Tesco – you earn 2.5 Virgin Points.  That’s 1,250 Virgin Points for every 500 pounds you spend. What Are My Odds of winning a Virgin Reward flight using Clubcard Points?

Are you trying to figure out your odds of winning a Virgin reward flight using your Tesco Clubcard points? Let’s break down the numbers.

In one month, an average Virgin Atlantic Airways family earns over 20,000 points on everyday spending. If you’re a Tesco shopper AND a member of the VA Flying Club, it’s simply your lucky day. Remember, Tesco is the UK’s largest supermarket chain and one of the most visited online grocery stores in the world.

As of 2023, 21 million Brits have a Tesco Clubcard with 6.6 million being regular app users. A number up from 2.5 million in 2020 thanks to the company’s recent switch to a digital platform. Tesco’s loyalty program is also completely free to join, making it a great way to get something back from your everyday spend. Hence, we’d say your odds of getting a Virgin reward flight is pretty high if you use your Tesco Clubcard for your everyday shopping needs.

Why Does This Reward Scheme Work?

Accessible: You can collect Clubcard points on almost anything you buy in-store, at tesco.com and even Tesco Fuel.

Quick & Time-efficient: You can instantly win Virgin Air miles against your Tesco Clubcard vouchers without waiting for your next statement. As long as you are signed up to auto-exchange and have a minimum of 150 Clubcard points – you’re good to go. In fact, you can turn as little as £1.50 in Clubcard vouchers into Virgin Points.

£2.50 in Clubcard voucher = 500 Virgin Points
£5.00 in Clubcard voucher = 1,000 Virgin Points
£10.00 in Clubcard voucher = 2,000 Virgin Points

Thanks to Tesco’s new Instant Points, you don’t need to wait around for your next quarterly Clubcard statement before booking your next Virgin reward flight.

Online: All you need to do is place an online request for Virgin Points via your Clubcard Account and immediately receive a confirmatory email from Tesco.

Durable: Thankfully, Virgin Points don’t come with an expiry date. Giving you more time to save up a useful balance for Virgin reward flights.

Note: You cannot, however, transfer points back to your Tesco Clubcard once they are exchanged and credited to your Flying Club account.

In addition to the Flying Club, VA also has a new loyalty initiative for its members – Virgin Red. This programme allows members to earn points for purchases across all Virgin brands. From tipping your Tesco Clubcard points, to everyday online shopping with many of the big UK retailers – get ready to see those points mount up in no time.

And the best part about being a Flying Club Member? Any Virgin reward flight you hop on will still bring you Tier Points. This can help you maintain your Flying Club Tier status as well as help you reach Silver or Gold status quickly.
