Great news for travellers interested in Virgin reward flights. Virgin Atlantic is offering new features to make greater use of your Virgin Atlantic points.
The use of Companion, Upgrade and Clubhouse vouchers has been made even simpler. All Virgin Atlantic points will now benefit from more flexible usage conditions. Further details below:
Easier use of Companion, Upgrade and Clubhouse vouchers:
Companion Vouchers for Virgin reward flights were previously used for:
- You could upgrade from Premium to Upper Class, but you had to be a Gold member to do it.
- A Companion Voucher similar to the British Airways offer where you received 2-4-1 reward flights for the price of one but had to pay taxes and fees for both on Virgin Atlantic aircraft only. Once again, there were limitations on the class that you could book. If you were Gold, you could only utilise it in Upper.
- A voucher for access to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounge.

An easier and simpler way
Your Companion Vouchers now offer increased Virgin Airlines rewards, allowing use with any ticket, any booking class, and any cabin travel (except for Economy Light and Economy Delight), regardless of your tier status. Just remember, your companion can't fly in a cabin class higher than yours.
The benefits extend to those who've earned Companion Vouchers through our credit cards as well. Now, you can book your travel partner into any cabin, irrespective of your tier status. If you're a Silver or Gold member when booking, there will be no point cost for the companion reward seat. If you're a Red member at the time of booking, the companion seat will be free in Economy Classic and Premium, or you'll see a 50% point reduction for the Upper class. We've also enhanced our upgrade vouchers. They can now be used with any ticket or booking class, including reward flights (with Economy Light as the only exception), to grant a one-cabin upgrade for a round trip.

Gold tier
Gold tier is for members with 1,000 tier points and the perks include:
- Earn a whopping 60% more Virgin Points on every flight.

Every £1 spent on everyday card purchases earns you 1.5 Virgin Points, and every £1 spent on Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Holidays earns you 3 points (some restrictions may apply).
