For many travellers, the small wins add up to big rewards. That morning cappuccino at the airport, a ride to the hotel, or even a last-minute taxi home — every journey can become an opportunity. Thanks to a new partnership between Aer Lingus and Uber, your everyday rides are worth more than just the fare. The AerClub × Uber partnership allows members to earn Avios every time they book a trip through the Uber app in Ireland and the UK.

This announcement marks an exciting new chapter for AerClub loyalty members. Avios are no longer just for flights and holidays — they’re woven into everyday travel.

How the AerClub and Uber partnership works

From June 2025, AerClub members will receive 1 Avios per €1 spent on Uber rides in Ireland and 1 Avios per £1 spent in the UK. From a quick dash to Dublin Airport to a night out in London, your Uber journeys now earn more than memories — they earn rewards.

Every time you ride via the Uber app, you’re one step closer to the next upgrade, flight, or holiday. For those wondering how to earn Avios without flying, this is your everyday answer.

To get started, members need to link Uber to AerClub. Do this in the Uber app via the AerClub option. Once connected, Avios are added automatically after every trip — an easy way to collect Avios from everyday spending.

The AerClub × Uber earning rate

The earning rate is simple:

  • 1 Avios per €1 spent on Uber in Ireland
  • 1 Avios per £1 spent on Uber in the UK

Example: a €20 Uber ride in Dublin earns 20 Avios; a £25 ride in Manchester earns 25 Avios — simple maths, instant rewards.

You can also earn Avios on eligible trains, coaches, and some boat routes in the UK via Uber’s expanded transport services — collect across land and sea.

The bigger picture: Avios flexibility

This partnership plugs into the wider Avios ecosystem. Points can be used to redeem flights, book Aer Lingus flights, or unlock Aer Lingus Holidays packages.

Better still, Avios are portable. The points you earn through Uber land in your Aer Lingus AerClub account, but you can move them across to The British Airways Club (formerly BA Executive Club), Iberia Plus or Qatar Airways Privilege Club whenever it suits you.

Quick start: AerClub × Uber guide

  1. Open the Uber app and go to the rewards/loyalty section.
  2. Connect your AerClub account using the linking option to sync both platforms.
  3. Take your first ride — check any launch bonuses and deadlines in the promo details.
  4. Earn automatically — car, coach, train, or boat trips via Uber earn Avios at the stated rate.

Why this matters for travellers

Uber is a service many people already use instinctively. Pairing it with AerClub turns ordinary rides into progress towards Avios reward flights. That Friday evening Uber home can be a stepping-stone to your next weekend getaway.

It also improves accessibility: even casual travellers can steadily build Avios balances.

What your points can achieve

  • Short-haul reward flights: e.g., from ~8,000 Avios return on off-peak routes (plus fees).
  • Avios upgrades: use points earned on rides to upgrade Aer Lingus flights.
  • Aer Lingus Holidays: mix Avios and cash for city breaks or beach escapes.

Using AerClub Avios on BA reward flights

Avios is a shared currency. The Avios you earn via AerClub (including Uber rides) can be used for British Airways flights by moving them with “Combine My Avios.”

Steps to move Avios between partners

  1. Log in to AerClub. Open your Aer Lingus account dashboard.
  2. Find “Combine My Avios.” Use it to move Avios to another programme (e.g., the BA Club).
  3. Enter your BA details. Ensure your personal details match exactly across accounts.
  4. Select the amount you want to transfer.
  5. Confirm and transfer. Avios typically appear quickly in your BA account, ready for reward seats, upgrades, or BA Holidays.

By taking Uber journeys in Ireland or the UK, AerClub members are working towards Aer Lingus flights, Aer Lingus Holidays, and British Airways redemptions worldwide. You can Search BA reward seats up to a year in advance with Reward Flight Finder (RFF).

What’s next for Avios earners?

The Aer Lingus–Uber partnership shows Avios aren’t confined to the skies. Expect more opportunities that align rewards with how people live, move, and spend. Aer Lingus taps into modern, tech-savvy travellers, and Uber becomes a gateway to travel rewards.

Turning everyday journeys into rewards

If you’re wondering how to collect Avios, this partnership is a simple answer. With a few taps, your next Uber ride could bring you closer to Avios flights, Aer Lingus Holidays, and coveted upgrades. It’s not just about the destination — it’s about rewarding every step along the way.
