Mixing business with pleasure took on a new meaning with Uber for Business’s latest announcement. The ground transport provider has confirmed that its popular “Double Avios” offer, which was launched in October 2024, will run through 31 December 2025.
Under the scheme, employees earn two British Airways Avios for every £1 spent on UK rides during official trips. These Avios are posted automatically to the traveller’s British Airways Club balance, increasing the pool they can later redeem to book a reward flight with Avios or top up a balance to book flights with Avios on partner airlines.
“We’re really pleased with the uptake we’ve seen since introducing the double Avios offer. Given its popularity, we’re more than happy to keep it running,” said Jenna Brown, Director of Uber for Business UK.
Why Link a Business Profile?
In addition to earning bonus points, travellers who connect to their company account can benefit from other valuable business travel perks as well, including:
- Automated expense receipts that feed directly into corporate finance systems
- Access to on‑policy premium perks, such as priority pick‑ups, executive‑class vehicles, and dedicated support
- Duty‑of‑care features that allow travel managers to track journeys in real time
“The aim is to reward business travellers for their loyalty, but also to encourage riders who are yet to link their profiles to do so,” said Brown. “There are so many great features available to riders when they connect to their company account; it would be a shame if anyone was missing out on these benefits. It’s great that the Double Avios has helped to bring them to our riders’ attention.”
How It Works

- Open the Uber app, create (or select) a business profile, and link it to your firm’s Uber for Business account.
- Add your British Airways Club number to your Uber profile.
- Ride within the UK at the company’s expense. You will earn two British Airways Avios per £1 — double the standard rate.
- Even if you’re not booking Uber rides, you can still use the app to reserve trains and coaches.
- Avios will post automatically; once credited, you can book a reward flight with Avios or transfer points to partners such as Qatar Airways or Iberia.
During March, the 2× Avios offer was also promoted in an advertising campaign at London City Airport, a hub for time‑pressed executives who often rely on British Airways’ short‑haul network for business trips while also using their BA reward points to book flights with Avios for leisure trips.
With the promotion now set through the end of 2025, frequent travellers who want to get closer to their next award seat or upgrade can continue to take advantage of the offer.
