There are only two good ways to spend winter: wrapped in a blanket by the fire with a mug of hot chocolate, or on a beach, soaking up the sun. If you're leaning toward the latter, Qatar Airways has you covered. Qatar's flag carrier has announced its winter 2025 schedule with 94 extra weekly flights across 16 destinations.
The airline's expanded schedule comes in response to the rising global demand from passengers and provides several additional flight and destination options for both leisure and business travellers. It's a win-win for everyone, as travellers get more options to use their Qatar Airways Avios with increased frequencies across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. The airline will also strengthen its international connectivity through its Doha hub at Hamad International Airport this way.
London Leads the Way with the Most Flights
While Qatar Airways has added more flights across its entire winter schedule, the biggest long-haul boost is on its flagship Doha to London Heathrow route. The airline is expanding service from eight to ten daily flights, the highest-ever frequency on this flagship route. That's in addition to British Airways' two daily flights. This means travellers now have 12 daily options between the two capitals.

Speaking about the expanded schedule, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori said, "Qatar Airways is consistently witnessing a steady rise in demand for our 5-star services to some of the most prominent destinations in the world, most notably for London, Dublin, Cape Town, and São Paulo. The latest increase in flight frequency is testament to our continual and unmatched enhancements of experiences for our passengers travelling through the Best Airport in the Middle East – our hub, Hamad International Airport."
Australia Expansion and Fleet Upgrades

Qatar Airways is also expanding in Australia by introducing a new route between Melbourne and Doha in partnership with Virgin Australia, increasing capacity to three daily flights. Meanwhile, services to Canberra are also returning.
In addition to the partnership and introduction of the new routes across Europe and Africa, the airline has also increased its fleet with some major upgrades. New additions include the Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, planes known for their fuel efficiency and onboard comfort.
The rollout of Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi is also underway across the fleet, which will provide passengers free, gate-to-gate connectivity.
2025 Has Been A Landmark Year for Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways maintains a strong reputation for service across its fleet, including A320s, A380s, and Qsuite-equipped 777s and A350s. In 2025, Skytrax once again named it the "World's Best Airline" and awarded it top honours for "World's Best Business Class," "Best Business Class Lounge," and "Best Airline in the Middle East" — the latter for the 13th time.
The airline's hub, Hamad International Airport (DOH), was also recognised with multiple Skytrax awards, including "World's Best Airport" and "Best Airport Shopping." Meanwhile, the experience on the ground has been just as impressive. Hamad International Airport's Al Mourjan Business Lounge has been upgraded with new quiet zones and fine dining options, while the airport's lush indoor garden, The Orchard, continues to wow travellers.
Qatar Airways was also the first airline in the Middle East to achieve the highest level of certification under IATA's Environmental Assessment (IEnvA), and it remains globally recognised for its sustainability leadership and action against illegal wildlife trafficking.
