Scotland’s only airline, Loganair, has officially adopted Avios as its loyalty currency as of April 1, 2025. It has now become eighth in the list of airlines to join the global Avios network along with British Airways, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Iberia, Qatar Airways, Vueling, and LEVEL (a low-cost airline within the Iberia group).

With this announcement, the UK’s largest regional airline has rebranded its former Clan Loganair programme to Loganair Loyalty. Passengers can now earn and spend Avios on Loganair flights, along with other carriers in the Avios ecosystem.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said, “The introduction of Avios, alongside our rebrand to Loganair Loyalty, opens a world of new benefits for our customers. It marks an exciting step forward, giving our frequent flyers more flexibility and choice in collecting and spending rewards.”

Here’s everything you need to know about how to collect and redeem Avios on Loganair.

Linking Loganair Loyalty with British Airways

To move Avios between Loganair Loyalty and British Airways Club, first sign up for a Loganair account. Make sure both accounts have matching personal details. Then link your BA account with Loganair on the Avios.com website. Once linked, you can transfer Avios as needed at no cost and with no minimum threshold. If you already have Avios with partners like Qatar Airways or Finnair, move them into British Airways first and then onto Loganair.

Earning Avios on Loganair

You can earn Avios directly in your Loganair Loyalty account when you buy a paid ticket. The amount you earn depends on the type of fare:

  • Fly gets you 410 Avios each way
  • Fly Flex gets you 650 Avios each way
  • Fly Flex+ gets you 1,300 Avios each way

These Avios can then be transferred to a British Airways account, where you can combine balances for future Avios flight redemption on Loganair or other participating airlines.

Redeeming Avios on Loganair Flights

All one-way Loganair flights redeemed via Loganair Loyalty cost 6,500 Avios, regardless of distance or route length. Travellers pay minimal taxes and fees, which makes certain Loganair flights exceptional value, especially in regions where cash fares can be high. Some things to keep track of when booking an Avios flight redemption on Loganair are:

  • Each Avios reward flight includes 15kg of checked baggage, 6kg of hand baggage, and a complimentary snack and drink.
  • Seat selection is not included but is available for a fee.
  • Certain subsidised Loganair routes (e.g., Orkney inter-island hops) are not eligible for Avios redemption.
  • Date or route changes cost between £30 and £50 per segment, and redemptions are non-refundable.

An important point to keep in mind is that Avios redemptions on Loganair are non-refundable, so travellers should book only when they’re confident about their dates. If plans change, you can still alter the flight route or date for a fee ranging from £30 to £50, but you won’t be able to recover the Avios or taxes already spent if you need to cancel outright.

Where Can You Fly with Loganair?

The airline covers a broad range of UK and Ireland destinations, including:

  • Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen
  • Inverness and the Isle of Man
  • Newcastle and Southampton
  • London Heathrow (for onward international connections)

These Loganair routes often provide quick links to remote Scottish communities or smaller airports not served by larger carriers.

Travellers can secure last-minute domestic connections or plan multi-stop itineraries that combine short-haul Loganair flights with longer journeys on British Airways or other Avios partners. This means travellers can enjoy quick, convenient hops to remote communities or popular domestic cities.

Final Thoughts

Loganair has become the latest airline to join the growing family of carriers that offer Avios reward flights. Passengers flying on Loganair routes can now integrate their regional trips into a global Avios ecosystem, making accumulating and spending points easier than ever.

The airline’s new Avios-based programme will ultimately deliver more choice, value, and connectivity for frequent flyers.
